Synopsis: The aim of this event is to stimulate ideas for BCS branch members and encourage more education liaison activities in the Worcester area. Irene Glendinning and Margaret Low are from BCS Coventry Branch, which has been actively involved since 2002 in organizing various events and initiatives for schools in Coventry and the surrounding region. They have developed a strong network of contacts to advise and support their activities in different ways. They will provide some information about what they do, their contacts, what has worked for them and why these activities are important. They will also explore some of the difficulties they have faced during this time.
Speakers: Irene Glendinning is Academic Manager for Student Experience in the Faculty of Engineering and Computing at Coventry University, with over 30 years experience as a Computer Scientist in industry and education. She is currently Chairman of BCS Coventry Branch. Margaret Low is a Senior Teaching Fellow in WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group) at the University of Warwick, has been teaching software development since 1988. She is Education Liaison Officer for BCS Coventry Branch. Both Margaret and Irene are STEM Ambassadors.
